RSDNET.org, RSDNet-L LISTSERV Information Page

MAILING LIST! RSDNet-L, the online discussion list for people with RSD, who know someone with RSD, or who treat people with RSD, is here to provide people with RSD someone to talk to 24-hours-a-day. The list was started in October 1996 and has more than 620 members in 14 countries, and is growing everyday. Based in email, it works with the standard LISTSERV commands, offers digests, and archives. In order to maintain some privacy (and keep out spammers), only subscribers can post to the mailing list or read archived messages and the subscriber list is viewable only by the list owner.

To Subscribe: Send mail to listserv@listserv.rsdnet.org (by clicking on this link). In the body of the message put the command
subscribe RSDNET-L your full name all on one line (you can copy and paste it from here). You can use an alias if you prefer. You will get a message back asking you to confirm your request to join the list, just hit reply, type OK in the message body, and send. If you do not send the confirmation back within 48 hours, you will need to start the subscription process over.

Sending Mail to the List: Once you are subscribed to the list, you must mail your postings to the list using this address: rsdnet-L@listserv.rsdnet.org. Make sure to include a detailed subject. Thanks.

How To Use The List Archives
NEW! The list archives are now available on the Web just for subscribers. To protect the confidentiality of list members (as much as possible), access to the list archives requires a password. Subscribers can set their own passwords directly from the Web site. To go there, just point your browser at http://listserv.rsdnet.org/archives/rsdnet-L.html. Once you get there, the first time you click on a link, you will get information on how to set your password.
For subscribers only: all messages sent to the list are archived, stored in weekly collections called notebooks that make it possible to catch up on missed messages or search for information on a particular subject. There are two ways to use these archives. The first is to retrieve a weekly notebook, open it in your word processor and browse through it or search it. The second is to use the built-in database functions of the listserv software to search the archives and retrieve only those messages that match your search criteria. (Information on how to the search functions will be forthcoming shortly or you can refer to the listserv documentation sources listed below.)

We hope to have similar instruction sheets available soon for other mail programs; we are working on Microsoft Exchange (Messaging) and Microsoft Internet Mail. If you are using a program for which instructions are not yet provided or that is not listed here, please send mail to Webster and we'll try to get you the instructions you need.
Listserv Commands: You can read about the top listserv commands for RSDNet-L and there is also a more extensive manual available for using listserv commands written by the nice folks at LSOFT, the publishers of the listserv software. Versions are available in a variety of formats, so please follow the appropriate link below.
